AYR United move to Heathfield
Thursday, 30 November 2006
Finally, AYR United will move to a new stadium at Heathfield from Somerset Park. They pledge that they will once again be a major provincial club within Scotland.

Barret Homes are believed to be the buyers of Somerset Park. Cash from the sale will be used to start the development of a 3650 main stand.

August 2008 is seen as the completion date if the planning permission is won in early 2007.

It is believed that the end cost to the stadium will reach at least £15 million. The space will include 700 parking spaces, commercial office space and indoor training facilities. The site is near Bridgend Autoplex and opposite Lochside Road.
